LetsTalkIPwithDaphne™ is a pioneering pro bono initiative created to democratize access to intellectual property rights and empower creatives, businesses, entrepreneurs, and startups, particularly from underrepresented communities. Launched in 2020, this initiative was created in response to the growing need for accessible, practical, and engaging IP education in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. LetsTalkIPwithDaphne™ provides free and pro bono educational content on topics such as copyright, trademarks, data privacy, NFTs, AI-generated content, and the metaverse, using multimedia formats such as blog articles, radio interviews, webinars, and social media campaigns. The platform serves as an open-access resource hub delivering insightful education, strategy consultations, and mentorship on copyright, trademarks, patents, digital rights, and the monetization of intellectual property assets. Through interactive sessions and public outreach, LetsTalkIPwithDaphne™ has empowered hundreds of innovators to protect their creations, monetize their intellectual assets, and contribute meaningfully to the digital economy.

WHAT WE DO

Through a series of interactive social media campaigns, blog articles, webinars, community outreach, and media interviews (such as Lagoon Radio, 88.5 UFM, Correct FM), the initiative:

Daphne Ekpe

Founder

Daphne Ekpe is an award-winning Intellectual Property and Technology Specialist, policy advocate, and visionary founder of LetsTalkIPwithDaphne™. With a deep passion for democratizing access to intellectual property rights, Daphne has spent years helping underrepresented entrepreneurs, startups, and creatives across the globe protect and monetize their innovations.

Daphne earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from the esteemed University of Ibadan in Nigeria. Subsequently, she pursued a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Intellectual Property and Technology at the American University Washington College of Law. During her time there, she was recognized as a Fellow in the prestigious Program on Information Justice and Intellectual Property (PIJIP).

Through LetsTalkIPwithDaphne™, Daphne has led public interest efforts to raise awareness on critical IP issues such as copyright trolling, AI-generated content, and digital asset protection. Her articles and expert appearances on major radio platforms like Lagoon Radio, 88.5 UFM, and Correct FM have made her a sought-after voice in the IP space. Her thought leadership earned her selection to the NextGen@ICANN79 Program, where she contributed to shaping global internet governance policies at the ICANN79 Forum in Puerto Rico.

Daphne's work bridges the gap between traditional IP systems and the realities of the digital age, making her a leading force in transforming the IP landscape for a more equitable and creative future.
